Notes to Notes and Internet Email Addresses

My Company (CompA) and a second Company (CompB) have set-up Notes to Notes mail routing between our Domino 8.5.1 servers.

Cross Certification, Directory Assistance, Mobile Directory Catalog are all set-up and woring. Notes to Notes mail routing works and both Companies users can email each other and find each other’s addresses using type ahead.

However if a CompA user sends an email to a CompB’s internet email address (not Notes address) then it goes out via the internet email gateway. The same is true if a CompB users sends an email to a CompA user’s internet email address.

What setting do I need to set so that emails to internet email addresses are routed Notes to Notes and not via the internet?

Subject: Not possible

We have exactly this same issue, and have for years.

AFAIK - (and I’ve opened multiple PMRs with IBM over this exact same issue) - it’s not possible.

Subject: Did you try adding the recipient to the sender’s personal address book with their notes name instead of internet address?

It is a case by case basis fix, but it could work as a workaround.
