Notes:// stops working after latest MSDesktop Search for Notes update

I just spent 3 hours working with a user who’s notes:// links weren’t working.I followed KBase docs & reran a regfix to re-register Notes into XP - All for nothing!!

I was backing-up her data, ready to reinstall Notes. She mentioned she had the Microsoft Desktop Search AddIn for Lotus Notes.

I had her uninstall this before I uninstalled Notes.

Viola!! I tested it & notes:// works now!!

Per some internet blogs, the latest MSDesktop Search update causes notes:// links to fail “Internet Explorer can’t find the helper application…”
