I’ve been having issues with my Notes 8.5 client, and even Symphony, crashing. I decided to do a complete reinstall and now the client won’t load at all. I can see the tasks running but I never get the client.
I’m a developer and I’m not sure where to start to deal with this issue. I’m ready to give up and go back to 8.0, or maybe even 7. Any ideas?
The uninstaller does a poor job of removing Notes from the computer. Back up your ID, names.nsf, desktop, bookmark.nsf, etc. and then delete all the Notes program and data files from the computer.2. Remove the Notes installation and log files from the computer.
I know it sounds scary, but I’ve had to “clean” the registry. Try opening regedit, search for “Lotus” and deleting the first dozen or so Notes-related entries.
I’m having the same problem. nlnotes stays in memory, but no other notes processes will load. Also no messages in technical support folder. It’s just “dead”
I had the same problem after some Microsoft updates were installed. Notes, Admin and Designer crashed while start up.
There was an error about DCOM server and an executable to which the system the access denied (EVENT ID 10000). In my case it was C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiapsrv.exe.
I had just to correct the security settings of the file. To prevent further problems I replaced the security settings of the files in the wbem folder with the settings of the folder itself (Folder Properties > Security > Advanced > check box “Replace permission…”.
