Notes Standard client online location points to local database

I have a client that is using the standard (eclipse) client. The user has an offline and online locations setup. The user has a local copy of their mail database so they can work offline when needed. The problem is when the user logs into the client using the “online” location, the client still uses the local copy of the database. I have checked the settings of the online location, but the settings are pointing to the server. I have deleted the cache.ndk and the desktop6.ndk without any changes. Also created a another location but even that location still uses the local database and not the database on the server.Has anybody else run into this problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: Yes, I’ve had this issue too in 8.0.2

The way I “fix” this is to open the Workspace, open the mail file on the home server so the replica is on the top of the replica stack (even if they are not stacked). We have to do this after a cluster failover, too. I haven’t tried this in 8.5 yet.

Subject: Tested in 8.5, behavior seems the same…

I just tested this on a 8.5 Notes client & noticed the same behavior. I had to change the Target of the Workspace Icon for my Mail-file to point to the Server-copy, for it to be then opened “On The Server”.
