Notes Single Logon service not working on Windows 8.1

Since my system was upgraded to Windows 8.1, NLS hasn’t worked. I’m always prompted for my password when starting Notes. Is there a configuration change I need to make or a patch to apply?

It states that Notes Single User Logon does not work with a Microsoft Account and recommends a shared login be used. I’m not sure what is meant by that.

Subject: Single logon (old NSL) is deprecated

The old NSL (Notes Single Logon) was deprecated several years ago in favor of new NSL (Notes Shared Login). You’ll want to switch to using the latter.
