Check the read/write rights the user has on the folder/drive where the notes.ini is located. I’ve seen this behavious if the client is not able to write to the notes.ini

Sahin & Bart,
I’d check the startup folder and the registry… nothing found strange. I’d also checked the read/write rights… and that’s in order to! So that can’t be it :S

The “You cannot use the Administration program while the” frequently occurs because you’re executing nlnotes.exe instead of notes.exe.Nlnotes.exe functions as a workstation client just like notes.exe but using nlnotes for desktop functions such as opening NSF files and printing multiple selected documents wreaks havoc and is responsible for hairloss and probably a few divorces.
Exit Notes and execute notes.exe and retry your tasks and you’ll likely avoid this insidious error message.
…whether you EVER experience a hassle free Notes experience is less likely than finding a relaxed hamster in W. Hollywood.
