I have built A Lotus Notes Website Content Management System that is a Domino Web Application. I have provided RTF that Content Managers can use to pass through HTML that will translate over the Web as the Content Portion of the Webpage. All is super dandy. The CMs are using square brakets around text that is default Sans Serif, black, 10 points. I have them using this approach so that Notes will not plug in its own tags within this RTF. Like a deprecated tag. Right now Notes is not inserting any HTML code except for a mysterious open
tag, prior to any of the content getting rendered. Why does Notes do this and how can I prevent the program from doing this? It is the only part of the code on the page that I currently have absolutely no control over and I need absolute control!
I did find a work around, in which I could set a Form Properity… Content Type = “HTML”. This will get rid of the appended
but then Notes Web Form Events stop working like HTML Head, HTML Body Attributes, etc. So by keeping Content Type = Notes is when Notes plugs in the
.
This relatively harmless
is only a nuisance because it precedes a table that gets plugged into the RTF that my HTML Web Standards Validation program identifies “
” as being bad form.
