I need to convert some reports to PDF. They are generated in Notes in some RichText fields. These reports are later rendered to our webpage as a normal HTML page.
Now i need to convert these reports into PDF files. If its from within Notes or from the HTML pages isn’t important. What is important is that i can create PDF files completely backend.
I also need the converted PDF file to match the original appearence, i need to be able to use forced pagebreaks, i need to create paragraphs that must be kept together across different pages.
I have been looking on the web for an application that i can use, but i havent found one yet that im sure can handle these things.
Produce your report as XML then transform it with XSL. Depending on your XSL you can produce HTML directly or you can produce XSL-FO and then put that through FOP to produce a PDF.
You can look at swingsofware.com for their Swing Integrator product. You would think that IBM could provide a PDF printer driver…but no. There’s also a good product from pdf995.com - (yes that is their name) that you can use to brew your own.
