Hi, we are having a peculiar problem since a couple of months. I’ve one user whose mail template is iNotes6. When he’s trying to logon to Notes(he’s using Notes 6.5.5), his notes just gets struck. I tried to logon to his pc using my id file and some other dummy id’s. Then everything’s working fine but if I again try to logon with his id, then Notes is again getting struck.I can logon with his id file after I’ve brought it to my PC. What I did is(just for testing), I changed his password on my PC and took it back to his PC. After this password change, he’s able to logon normally for a couple of days. Now again the old problem of Notes getting struck is reappearing. Again, I’ve to change his password on some other PC and keep it in his PC. ?Once, it was OK for a couple of weeks. And, we even reinstalled his Notes again after removing every instance of the previous installation.
Can anyone help me out of this issue? Thanks in advance for the help.
Check that he doesnt have a database or something which he doesnt have access to in the workspace. Could cause a delay.
Does it happen when he opens the client or when openning a databse? If thats he’s mail db, try to sign it.
Remove the cache file from the client. Dont remove the template.
Remove the desktop.dsk (Warning, he will lose his bookmarks)
Reinstall the client?
I had a problem once when an user had this problem. We ended up recreating his email database. Could be an ID issue. Do you have a back up you could try?
Hi, thanx a lot for the response. As I mentioned earlier, we reinstalled Notes freshly in his PC. I made sure that we didn’t copy anything from the previous installation. So there’s no way that can have a database in his workspace for which he doesn’t have access. This happens when he opens his Notes client and enters password. This is weekend for us. I doubt whether he’ll be available now to perform the steps you stated above. Let me check out on Sunday.
