Notes is suddenly having trouble reading attachments

We have emails coming in from people that we have received from for many years with no problems. But now (since 6.5 upgrade) attachments coming from them are saying

“MIME content for this item is stored in attachment $RFC822.eml.”

or similar. The senders use Outlook and are sending to our Notes environment. I have asked them to try re-sending with the rich-text turned off, but that hasn’t worked either. Besides that, I find it hard to believe that it should be a setting on their machines if we’ve always received from them with no probs and now since 6.5 migration there’s a problem.

When I open the attachment it opens an Outlook Express window (obviously) and then I can save the attachments from there anywhere I like, but ideally I should be able to open the attachments from Notes as normal.

Any ideas?

We also started having this problem after upgrading to Notes 6.5 - We can also open the attachment with Outlook Express.

Our error is slightly different:

MIME content for this item is stored in attachment $RFC822.eml. Parsing MIME content failed: Insufficient disk space

We have over 11 gigs of free space on the Domino server.

I found that the disk space error is real. We had 10+ gig available on our Domino partition as well. But I discovered we did not have much space left on our “C” drive where the TEMP folder was located.

I created a new TEMP folder on a different partition and made all corresponding changes in my server document and changed the Temp variable in my Environment Variable setting in Windows 2000 and because of my lack of patience restarted the server and all of these errors went away!
