I’ve seen a couple of other posts relating to the same subject but no-one has posted a reply…
I’ve missed a number of IMs because Notes has logged me out after 15 mins of “inactivity” while I’ve been in Word even though I have been “Active” at the keyboard and I have the full Sametime client running too.
IM integration must be adapted so that I can choose whether to allow Notes logout to take IM with it.
One thinks this is the sort of thing that might have been highlighted if Milestone 3 had been made avialable to the beta testers (or as IBM prefer to call us… “the great unwashed”. There… said it… I’ll stop moaning about that now.
The behavior is: when you are logged out of Notes and you recieve an IM you should get audio notification and an icon will be added to the status area of the Windows task bar. The icon will blink for about 5 seconds. Hovering over the icon will show who the IM is from.
Just because the behaviour was in M2 doesn’t make it right. Considering that M2’s IM integration was less than polished it is not unreasonable to have assumed that it would be improved in M3 but of course, the “great unwashed” never got to see M3.
Simply put, Notes’ automatic logout process should NOT change the Sametime status if STConnect.exe is running.
