Notes Error when using a send email function in the integrated Sametime client

The following error appears when using the Send Email function to a contact in Sametime.

Steps to Reproduce:

Launch the Notes 8.5 client.

Log on to a Sametime server with the integrated Sametime client in Notes 8.5.

Select a Sametime contact in the sidebar with the right mouse button and select: Send - Email.

A prompt box will appear with the title Lotus Notes MailMan Error. It will contain “Notes Error - Null object handle”

Click OK to close the error prompt.

This functionality does work in the Sametime Connect client.

I also see the same error when attempting to email a picture out of a web page in IE8

Has anyone run across this issue and resolved it?

Subject: regional settings problem

Hi,I saw this error many years before. it was about regional settings. If you try with English USA settings (language and location) it will do it. It was a bug and solved before. Now, it’s in front of us again.

Could you provide more information on this? What is the connection? What is tied in here? In our experience, the regional settings were set to English and getting the error. We changed to something else. Closed Notes. Changed it back. And now it works. At times it doesn’t, but it now seems to work more often than not. But I’m wondering what the connection between regional settings and the send to function is in hopes of automating a resolution.
