This message appears in the forum quite a bit but doesn’t address my issue.
I will describe what has happened, some of which might not be relevant.
We have been archiving records in a large database (2.4 million records) and this was going fine. This database has one replica on another server (clustered). A couple of weeks ago I found them replicating between each other and 200k previously deleted records reappeared.
Prior to this the databases were in synch with each other so its not a case of one database deleting its records, and this not been replicated across only for the records to reappear after the deletion stubs have been removed.
Inexlicable as I found this, I carried on archiving but when I went through the archive and deleted some records I noticed a strange error message.
Documents that I could open in the archive, when I deleted them I was told “Notes error: Document has been deleted”.
In the view the documents then had crosses against them and when I pressed F9 they deleted as I expected. However, why am I being told that records have been deleted when I can see them and open them.
I have tried copying, compacting and reindexing (updall) the database but all without any effect. A large number of documents give the above error message when I delete them. I don’t think that this just relates to the same documents that were originally deleted and made a comeback.
What can I do to these records so make them ‘normal’ and am I at risk at some point in the future of these being deleted from the database?
Thanksw
