Notes emails truncate when using 2560 X 1140 resolution on 27" iMac

I am experiencing a problem with Lotus Notes 8.5.1 FP2, specifically running on a 27" iMac with Mac OS X 10.6.4 with a screen resolution of 2560 X 1140 (native and default resolution).

Sometimes if an email is created or viewed that contains long sentences that word-wraps, an invisible margin appears to get inserted on the left side of the text in the body of the email, which in turn truncates all the text on the right edge of the window. This truncation is apparent when printing as well.

Manually re-sizing of the window does not remove the truncation however if the window is re-sized all the way to the left (making everything hidden unreadable) and then re-sized back out again, the truncation disappears both on the screen and when printing.

If the screen resolution is dropped to a lower resolution, the problem is not evident however this is an obviously an unacceptable solution.

Searching the forums references a resolution fix by modifying the $SF_PICKER=x in the Notes.ini file, but the Mac version uses a Notes Preference file (User → Library → Preferences → Notes Preferences) and it does not have such a setting.

Any input or direction is greatly appreciated.
