Notes disappears. I install lotus notes 6.5.1, 6.5.4, 7.0.2 one after another, on Win 2k3 Server to different locations (folders). When I try launching everyone, startup yellow window splashes and disappears… and nothing…
I have full admin rights. Security on ‘notes’, ‘notes\data’ and ‘windows’ folders is off. Everyone can change and read these folders.
When I copy already installed client from another PC, it starts and works well.
Anybody knows how fix this problem?

it’s probably a path problem where it finds libraries form the wrong version first.

Hi,that usually is a problem with the notes.ini. Most likly you don’t hit the right one. But what do you mean you installed different versions on a 2k3-server. As application for users to run with TS? Or just for you? Client or Server?

I installed lotus client for me only, not for TS users, but with notes client setup option ‘for all users on this computer’, when notes data directory resides in ‘C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data’ directory. Notes.ini in this type of installation resides in ‘windows’ folder. PC OS is Windows 2003 Server.File c:\windows\notes.ini contains the following:

May be here is the problem?
Firstly I installed 6.5.1 client, then uninstalled it and tried client 6.5.4 and 7.0.1. Results were the same.

Hi,
While un - installing the notes client, you have to remove the lotus folder and go for any upgrade of the version, else it will take the same lotus folder.
