Notes Database

Hey All,

Not really a technical question here, I am just looking to get some ideas on how to use Lotus Notes. I want to give everyone in my team the ability of having a editable timetable for work. I am wondering are there some notes databases that would just show a calendar with people names in them for a time slot. Would there even be an option to update everyone’s personal notes calendar so that they do not have to go to this database?

Just to explain again to be clear. Each day there are 3 shifts 8-11, 11-3 and 3-6. We are constantly swapping and changing what shifts we worked so the Idea would be to have a database were we could trace all the changes made during the week. My original idea was just just get a word doc and load it a Wiki but I wonder could Notes have a more ‘innovative’ idea for this?

Regards

Roy

Here’s a quick idea using the existing calendar. Make everybody’s available freetime within the available hours you specified. You can then simply schedule the equivilant to a meeting for the shift hours that they are scheduled to work. You can then create a group calendar with all the employees in it which would provide a snapshot look at the shifts they are working. This also provides the ability to change hours when its required.

It’s simple, doesn’t require a different database and I think provides what your looking for.
