Hi All.
Some Notes desktop clients have notes data on the file server. This is our “roaming” feature.
The file server is a novell cluster. Whenever the cluster switches from one node to the other the notes client hangs and chrashes. It seems that some links or identifier are lost.
Other apps like office do not have this problem.
Does anyone know a solution or a trick to make Notes less sensitive?
Thanks

It’s probably similar to domino server clustering in that if you have a db open and a cluster server goes down there is no graceful failover; you’d need to close the db on the downed server and reopen it for failover to kick in. since the notes client has several open files when it runs it’s no wonder that the client would not like this and lock up as a result.

Hi,
I can’t give you a hint for your original question. But I tested it too and I had crashes. The names and ID file, bookmark are always, so there is a reason why this is not supported by Lotus/IBM.
But If you have all the files on a server you could use the real roaming. Used space on server stays the same and it works
