Notes Clients on Linux? Anyone?

All,

I’ve been trying to install the LN Client 6.x on a Linux Desktop but never had any success.

Did some already manage to install Client, Designer and Administrator on Linux? And if yes, how did you do it?

Any help welcome.

Regards,

Luc Van Steen

So I’m asking myself : wich client are you trying to install???

Ther is a Domino server for linux, and if you search the forum, you will find some guyes who installed Notes on Wine or Lindows or other 3th party products.

I’ve installed R5 clients (mail, designer and administrator) without any problem on a Linux Desktop by using Wine.

However, many people on this forum already TRIED to install R6 clients on Linux by using Wine or Crossover but only a few to none succeeded.

I’m interested in those few who managed to install the R6 client by using Wine.

The Crossover application is Wine – just a commercial version of it.

Also note granted Crossover has not truely certified R6 either.

Dear Luc,

I never succeeded in installing Notes 6 but I was able to use an existing installation mounting the fat32 partition. It still crashes a lot but at least it basically works.

I am using Debian SID (unstable) with latest wine or Mandrake 9.0 with self-compiled wine support.

I switched to Win4Lin some time ago (it cost money unfortunately) but try the wine installation from time to time. At least it works enough to take some screenshots :o)

Cheers

Have had success with R5 client/designer using Wine, but haven’t tried it with R6.I’m waiting on an official IBM Linux Client
