Hello
OK - not only do I have an issue in that it is not possible for me to close the Notes Client Down via the normal ways (menu or window close) I have to “kill -9 ” in a console window - but it seems that the laptop cannot go into standby mode with the notes client is running.
i will try this over the next few days to see if it is persistent.
Subject: Could you please provide more information? Thank you!
Notes can not quit clearly is known issue and it will be fixed in 8.5 GA.
For OS sleep issue, I have tried the following steps but could not reproduce the issue:
-
Launch Notes
-
Open several DBs in Notes
-
Go to Apple menu, select Sleep, OS can sleep
-
Reactive OS via mouse or keyboard and input OS password, then I can continue using Notes
Am I missing some key steps? Could you please provide the sample log if you encounter the problem again?
You can launch activity monitor, select Notes process and then click sample process button. Save and attach the log here. Thank you!
Subject: as requested.
OK - Sorry if I was a little misleading.
For the quick test that shows that the application does not allow my machine to go into an “auto-sleep”
-
Closed ALL application
-
Open “System Preferences” on machine
-
Energy Saver Icon
-
Select Settings For: Battery
In the window I drop everything to 1 min
“Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for”
-
Open the notes client
-
Open just Mail
-
wait… Although the Screen blanks the LED that flashes to indicate the the machine is in sleep mode does not even start after 15 mins (although it is set to auto engage at 1 min).
Selecting a manual Sleep for the machine is NOT a problem.
If you still want logs please let me know. The real issue here is only when I are running on battery and forget to put the machine into sleep mode.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
