Notes client will not retain mail sorting order

I have 1 user that her mailbox will not retain the sort order she sets (new mail at the top).

I have verified that her mail database is set to Restore as last viewed by user and that the option Retain view column sorting is enabled in the preferences.

However, everytime she closes her mail (completely closes Notes or just her mail database) and reopens, the sorting is lost. It will retain the order of columns if we move them around.

If I open her mail as admin from a different machine, that client will retain sort order.

Is their another setting or INI entry that would affect this?

Client 8.5.1 on Citrix (32bit)

Std85Mail template.

No one else with the same configuritons is experiencing the problem.

Subject: is this a roaming user?

If it is a roaming user, try this workaround in notes.ini:

DISABLE_WORKSPACE_ROAMING=1

This is a known issue at Lotus Support (SPR RBEO7Y4T5Z)

Yes, she is a roaming user. However, so are 3 others in our test group (including myself), and we are not experiencing any such problems. I verified I do not have that entry in my INI file.

Any other ideas?

Subject: try the ini variable

The problem does not appear for all roaming users…it doesn’t happen for users that were upgraded from an earlier client version, only new installs.

I added the INI entry and the sorting issues is now resolved. What all is that setting disabling?

DISABLE_WORKSPACE_ROAMING=1

We have had this occur on 4 more roaming users, and this setting solved the issue.
