I’m stuck.
I have just reinstalled a notes client on a machine that was running well without problems for over a year. The machine suddenly started having problems opening the $inbox of the user’s mailfile. It can open databases, it can open the database in design mode, run a script that accesses the $inbox folder and accesses documents with no delay. When actually opening the inbox there is a delay of up to an hour. The same client, can open a larger mailfile on a different server with no delay.
When the client is stuck in the delay, you can ctrl-break and get the “Operation aborted by user” messages and eventually open the inbox, however, no messages appear. I can go to a view and then open a message but opening a message starts the delay cycle again.
The machine has been scanned for spyware with Ewido, Pest Patrol, and S&D. The machine has been virus scanned.
Lotus has been installed to a different folder, different versions have been installed/uninstalled but all have the same results.
I’ve tried replacing the id file and using another id file of another user.
I’ve tried replacing the design of the database with a different template.
I’ve tried opening other mailfiles on the same server with the same results.
I have other clients that can open these databases with no issues or delays.
Has anyone seen this? Any suggestions?
