Notes Client on Mac OS X - problem attaching files from network share

I am using Lotus Notes on Mac and we are heavily using so called teamdisks (aka smbfs shares on file.vienna.at.ibm.com) Usually we generate Notes with many attachments mixed in the text, this is part of our job.

Under (sic.) Windows, one could easily drag from an explorer window (from a share network drive) into the new LN Mail on the position wanted and drop it there.

Or one could use the file-attach function.

Under OS X the Lotus Notes seems not to support that. When dragging FROM A NETWORK share, notes errors with: “file does not exist: /Disk/312/Nachweise/testfile.pdf”).

When dragging from a LOCAL directory, everything works fine - the problem is “only” when dragging from a network share.

Subject: Check Create Windows-friendly attachment

Try to use the file-attach dialog and check “Create Windows-friendly attachment” option when select the file to attach. Notes client will keep this option activate and now you can attach files dragging them into the Notes document.

Subject: Anyone?

Has nobody encountered this problem or does nobody else use shares from smb shares known as teamdisks?
