Client version 6.5.1 and 6.5
When ever I open the “Show/Hide Instant Contact List” from the bottom task bar of the Notes client, nothing happens. Occurred in 6.5 and 6.5.1. States that I am active and chat does work. Just can’t see my contact list.
No it’s not behind another window.
Any ideas?

I finally resolved this issue by searching for the word “buddy” in notes.ini and removing all the entries. Notes 6.5.2 works just fine with instant messenger now.

It may be positioned off screen.
Choose Show/Hide then press and release the ALT key and then use the down arrow. A menu should appear. Select Move and then use the arrow keys to position the window on the screen. Which way should you move? If the menu shows up on the right side of the screen, move the window left. On the bottom, move it up. etc.
If the menu doesn’t come up then Show/Hide again. It might have been displayed and the first Show/Hide hid it.
Alternatively, edit the notes.ini file and delete the “BuddyListPos” ini variable.

In my case it was hidden under the start menu bar. Your advice solved my issue.
