Notes client does not re-start after normal closure

Hello:

One user has a problem re-starting the notes client. The first time after she starts her computer it works fine but if she closes the notes client and tries to open it again it takes a long time she enters her password and then when the loading reaches 100% it doesn’t start the client. There isn’t any OS error or crash or anything done in notes to have it not start again. The only way to have it start is to shutdown the computer and start again and then it works. Any ideas on what may be wrong?? I searched the forum and all I found was one instance where there was an os error but this is not the case here so any ideas??

Thanks

Subject: no idea what might go wrong here. could you post the following logs? details inside.

please collect these data (NSD and Log files), attach to this. Thank you. These are critical information/data for developers to debug an issue. Trace/Error log files are available for Notes Standard only, not for Notes Basic.

NSD file :

In windows, go to the command prompt box, go to Notes data directory, then type “c:\program files\ibm\lotus\notes\nsd.exe”. It will generate a file with the following naming scheme, nsdxxxx.log, in the data\IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT directory. Please attach this file to an SPR.

Log files (Trace/Error logs ).

After an NSD, restart Notes and use IBM Support Assistant from the Help\Support menu to gather both these 2 files as well as additional information that can be useful in troubleshooting the problem.

In 8.01 or later, a java core file is also created that can contain crucial java call stacks that may be a contributing cause of the hang. The java core files has the following naming scheme, javaXxxxx.txt and can be found in the data\workspace\logs directory.

or

At an NSD, please go the “Logs” directory in “Workspace” folder under the Notes data directory. Please zip all files under this directory and attach a zip file to an SPR. ( Example: C:\Notes \Data\workspace\logs Particularly, the most recent activities are recorded in “trace-log-0.xml”. )
