Often when I try to open a local database on my Notes client, a message appears in the lower left corner of my screen that says ‘Connected to …’ followed by the name of a development server that I sometimes use. The same message with the reference to the this development server also appears at times when I try to open databases on other servers. I’m connected to a network, but it still does not make sense why this message appears, especially since it occurs even though nothing seems to be is running in the background (e.g. replication). It seems that it takes longer to open a database whenever this message appears.
I’d appreciate any ideas on what causes this message. Thanks.

How exactly are you trying to open the local replica? Why do you expect local to open?
Is there any code that’s running on open? Does it include an @DbLookup? Are you opening a frameset? What are the contents of the frames? Is there anything that refers to another database, or even to the same database but by listing that specific database rather than using the “current database” selection?

The message about connecting to a server occurs when I try to open various databases … I mentioned it occurs when I open a local database (which is not a replica) but the message also occurs when I try to open server based db’s.

Does it only happen on your client or do you see the behvior on other installations also?

This occurs only on my client.
