Hi
I have a user that keeps getting this message when trying to start the client ;
File does not exist : pernames.ntf
Then after clicking OK the clients stops restarting. The pernames.ntf is in the data folder. How can I start the client again?

My guess is that you are dealing with a multiuser install… the pernames.ntf template has to be located in the All Users folder (all users\application data\lotus\notes\data\mui\ … somthing\pernames.ntf)
Hope to help

Hi
I have checked that. The template is in the folder
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data\Shared
That is the datafolder are users are sharing with eachother.

Check the Notes.ini file and make sure that the Directory= entry is correct. In fact, it’s probably a good idea to double check that the notes.ini file that is being used is the one you think should be used. I had a situation on a Mac a while ago (see http://www.rhs.com/poweroftheschwartz/d6plinks/RSCZ-6ER7BT) where there were some extra notes preferences files (the equivalent of the notes.ini file) scattered around the system and I was getting the same pernames.ntf error. My guess is that the same thing can happen on windows if there are multiple notes.ini files on the path.
