Notes Client cannot connect to server - not responding

I have two Domino servers, and when Notes clients try to open mailbox from the second server a message says that the server not responding.

In the bottom of Notes Client is displayed :

-No answer from the last known address

-Server SRVDOM/INC not responding

-Search database SRVDOM/INC at the last address ‘127.0.0.1’ by TCPIP.

Also, when I try to open a database by ‘File/Databases/Open Database’, the Notes Client can’t show databases stored on this server.

The only way, is to create a connection document.

When I’ve compared both servers configuration documents, I saw on the Port tab of the second server that I had two Notes network ports :

First :

TCPIP - TCP - TCPIP Network - 127.0.0.1 - ACTIVE

Second :

TCPIP - TCP - TCPIP Network - SRVDOM - ACTIVE

On my first Domino server, I haven’t the first Notes port declared.

My questions are the following:

Do you think the problem comes from the first Notes port declared. This port with address 127.0.0.1 is it really useful ?

Can I delete this port without problems ?

Thanks for your answers.

Sorry for the translation, my english is not perfect.

Subject: Notes Client cannot connect to server - not responding

The 127.0.0.1 address is for the localhost which should be removed. This should fix your problem.

Hope this helps,

-Mike.

Thanks, I will try this

Hi,

Can you try with the IP address instead of selecting the server when you do Open Database.
