Notes client 8.5 crashing on launch

Hi,

My laptop crashed yesterday, and I had to do a hard boot. Now when I restart I’m given a page of text that begins with the line: JVM terminated Exit code=8096. I found the following which shows which dll is acting up. I guess it’s probably a locked file or something. I tried deleting the Temp files, but it didn’t help. Any help much appreciated as I am now hooped.

Subject: open in basic then standard

Try opening it in basic (change your shortcut to “C:\Program Files\lotus\notes\notes.exe” -sa ). Once you get it to open in basic, then exit, change the shortcut back, and open in Standard. This seems to fix stuff like that.

Otherwise, I’d be looking at a reinstall of the client as a possible fix.
