I have an requirement from client to upgrade Lotus domino server from 6.5 to 9.01. I just want to know whether domino server 9.01 will support 6.5 admin? There are few applications sharing the same addressbook but running on a different server ( domino 6.5). Please suggest us

The recommendation from IBM is to use the most current admin client. The newer client should be OK with the older server environment; IBM/Lotus has always been great at backward compatibility.

The 6.5 admin client will work against a 9.01 server, but it won’t have the many many changes in the admin client that the 9.01 version will have. In general, the best practice is to have the version of the admin server of the domain, match the version of the design of the domino directory and admin4.nsf, as well as the admin client. The reason being that new features/changes are often made that affect all of those areas.
