Notes 8.5 client homepage not maintaining column sort preference

Preferences + Client Cofiguration + Additional Options can set “Retain View Column Sorting” wich works when opening mail in its own window. But does not retain setting in home page “portal” (no not WebSphere Portal.)

Clients are complaining because they like the new welcome interface but want their new mail at the top , not the bottom.

Subject: a bit more info please…

Rick - are you referring to the default “Today” tab on the “My Work” option for the Home page?

The “Collaboration” tab on the same “My Work” option does respect the column settings for the mail file.

Subject: “Today” under “Recent Messages”

Keith - I am referring to the tab labled “Today” under “Recent Messages” view. As the name implies I would think it makes sense to display email received today in the recent messages at the top anyway. Seems backwards and a carry over from way back in version 3 days. Or if we cannot come to any agreement, lets compromise by letting a user have their view column sort stick in the Recent Messages view as well.

Subject: choose “Collaboration” tab to workaround the issue

User may choose “Collaboration” tab to workaround the issue.“Retain View Column Sorting” setting works on mail view and “Collaboration” tab of “My Work” home page.
For “Today” tab of “My Work” home page, it just shows recent messages, and doesn’t show column headers, so sorting can not be changed.Default sorting should be changed for enhancement. I will report a SPR.
