Notes 8.02 startup woes

I have found a way round the client start up woes.

Full client.

Start Symphony first.

Then send the blank doucument as an e-mail.

Notes client opens.

Get rid of the new e-mail.

Notes works OK.

If I start Notes it crashes every time.

Again this was from an 8.0.1 to 8.0.2 upgrade.

Deleted and started again - doesn’t work.

Cut down notes.ini and restart - no go.

Get rid of cache, desktop etc. Works first time then No Go!

As was famously said a few years ago.

Subject: the same upgrade works fine for me.

(8.01. to 8.0.2)

However, running a lot of betas it was worth not only deinstalling but to actually delete any left over files, too. Maybe this is your way to the target.

Yep, upgraded to 8.02 from 8.01 and we have the exact same errors with Notes, we also have mixed clients and are using DAMO wich also crashes Outlook (office 2003 SP3).

And almost without exceptions too… After using 8.0.2 for a while it suddenly starts to crash on startup.Easiest way out is to rename the framework directory before upgrading.
