Notes 6 Upgrade: Preventing a Broadcast Storm

Hello All,

I am currently working on updating the mail servers to Notes 6. However I am worried about a Broadcast or Network Storm.

Most of my users - replicate their mail to our main office from their field sites. So when they go into their field offices on Monday and Launch the upgraded Notes 6 Client - it will then want to replace the R5 design to R6 design on their mailbox. Is there anyway to easily tell notes to replace the design with a local copy of design template instead of coming to our site and getting the new design.

If I have all 200-300 users doing this around the same time, I think I may see a broadcast or network storm.

Any ideas? (Preferably not having to create scripts).

The design of their mail won’t be upgraded until you decide to do it.After you have upgraded the servers to 6 the users mail will still remain at the R5 design.

Once you are happy with your servers you can upgrade the clients at your own speed. Obviously you have to upgrade the Notes clients to Notes 6 before running the convert on their mail files.
