I have been looking for information about how I intregrate these two into a single login for users.
Our AD is already synchronized with a security solution promting users to use smartcard+PIN to login at workstations. This security solution scrambles AD passwords for users once every hour.
I guess this might cause problems for Notes single logon feature, but I want to ask you people first.
Have you considered using Notes’s smartcard support instead of single logon?
If both Notes and Windows are locked by the same smartcard, then users will only have to remember the PIN for their smartcard, instead of needing to remember multiple passwords. On the down side, users would be prompted for their PIN by both Windows and Notes, unless the smartcard supports a protected authentication path that can be configured to retain login state between applications, and I’d definitely recommend testing this setup in your configuration before rolling it out to end users, just in case Notes and your smartcard’s Active Directory “security solution” don’t play well together.
