I have a problem on 7 accounts loging into a new XP machine.on each account we…
Click on notes, get the start splash screen, then Notes starts, buts is minimised on the task bar. If you then click on Notes on the task bar, it has started ok, but the welcome screen is blank with incorrect characters for the title of the page.
if you then click anywhere on the page, the correct welcome page appears.
I’ve tried recreating the bookmark.nsf and it still has the same issue. any ideas?

I’ve sorted it. Nothing to do with Notes at all (well a bit)
The short cut that I was starting Notes with was set to Minimised. if you start Notes either Maximised or Normal, the welcome screen appears fine. If however you started Notes via the short cut “minimised” then Notes doesnt handle it and displays a blank welcome page until you click on it!

You start notes directly by clicking (nl)notes.exe, and not a shortcut?
Are there any entries in the registry?
Are there other programs running on the machine?

Starting Notes via a desktop short cut. Nothing else running on the machine.
50% of the users that log on, log on Successfully, the other half have this problem, whereby there is a blank corrupted welcome page
what specifically are you after in the registry?
