We have users on overseas using Lotus Notes 5.X clients are trying to access a database on our domino 8.5 server. And they cannot access this server but they are able to our 7.x servers.
I did add this parameter “Setup_First_Server_Public_Key_Width=630” to our 8.5 server and restarted but no help.
Users overseas have no options to upgrade their clients at this movement.
So, how can 5.x client can access database on 8.5 domino server?
i think you did not have any chance to get access to the 8.5 Server from the R5 Client. The notes.ini variable you use only works if you install an server and then, before you start the server the first time, change the notes.ini with this variable. I think this parameter does not work if the server is started and you attach this parameter to the notes.ini on a later time.
