I have just tried to help a user who works remotely set up a location profile and local replica. I’ve done this and entered the correct settings enabling replication between 08:00 and 07:50 Mon-Sat.
User has told me that it won’t replicate at all. I know his bandwidth is not very good, but surely Notes should at least attempt to replicate when that function has been enabled?
Is there a certian point, where if the available bandwidth isn’t good enough Notes will not replicate?

There are two circumstances that will cause a failure – one being that the server connection cannot be made (“Server is not a known TCP/IP host…” or “Remote server is no longer responding …”), and the other being a connection that is horrifically slow (“Network operation did not complete in a reasonable time. …”). If the user looks at the Replicator page, the nature of the failure will be displayed beside each database entry. It’s not a fix, but it does give you something to work with. If the message is consistently a no-connect, it could be something in the middle interpreting attempts at communication over port 1352 as malicious (local firewall, ISP, etc.).

Hi Robert,
While there are no benchmarks with regard to minimum bandwidth required to replicate, NRPC is a chatty protocol… Does your user receive an error when replication is attempted? How frequently does replication occur? Assuming that the local replica you refer to is this user’s mail database, is this configured for replication via the client?
