I have experienced twice at different companies a similar problem:Notes documents (not memo) with attachments (in a rtf, not body field) have lost their attachments after a server upgrade (from R5 to 6.x).
The issue is that the attachments have the size of 0 byte, while trying to launch the attachment will return: Note item not found
The icons for these attachments are (old) grey; although there are some similar attachments who is ok.
There is no LotusScript coding included in this process, only straight forward native attach feature.
The first time we encountered this problem we fixed it by copying the healthy attachments from a backup on a R5 server
into the document where the corrupted attachment had been.
Finishing the upgrade made it work for some time, until we started to experience the same problem all over again.
Attachments are suddenly zeroed and Note item not found message. The reason for this recurring problem is unknown.
My headache and concern is that these lost documents are vital for my customers operations (shipping).
It is not a sound solution to copy over the attachments every time they find a corrupted attachment.
The problem is valid only for attchments who have been through the upgrade process. Attachments included after the upgrade are working just fine.
Yes I have been vacuuming notes.net and the web for solutions to no avail.
