Not Working Windows "Send To" -> "Mail Recipient"

Hi,

I’m having some problems with the Send To option in windows XP SP3.

Lotus Notes client 8.5 is installed.

Lotus is the default mail program.

If I set the default mail program to Outlook the Send To works, if I change it to Lotus Notes nothing happens. (no error, just nothing)

An extra remark:

  • I have installed it on 10 computers now and 4 have this problem :slight_smile:

  • We are also using notes incombination with a N: network share to host the notes.ini and user custom files.

Re-install Outlook, your MAPI.DLL might been replace and windows does not recognize it. We seen this problem with some MS Office update, not Notes 8.5. Re-installing Outlook, then making Notes the default mail program fixed the issues…

Sorry for the mis info.But only outlook express is installed.

If I choose “Outlook Express” & “windows live hotmail” as default mail program everything works fine, only when lotus notes is selected nothing happens.

I don’t believe reinstalling anything is going to help you. There seem to be multiple Send To problems with 8.5 including situations where it doesn’t do anything, present a Null Object Handle error, or puts extra information in the to field. We have a PMR open on this with no resolution as of yet. For me it is seems random. Some programs I get the error other programs it works just fine.

I have many open PMRs with IBM on these send mail issues. IBM seems to not be able to reproduce them. Changing the regional setting seems to help on the mailman errors, but on some users, the mailman errors come back. Nothing seems to stop the random occurrences of the body text (especially from Windows Explorer) from going into the To field of the memo.

Our issues started way before we started with 8.5. We were a an Exchange shop, then we migrate to Domino/Notes. When Outlook was remove the send me was still working. Then a MS update totally disable the feature and set outlook as the default email program.

We fixed the issues by re-installing outlook and resetting notes as the default email program. So re-installing fixed our issues and it is workig with 8.5 for 3400 users.
