Not receiving bounceback messages

Our Domino server is set up in such a way we use SMTP Virtual Server to act as our SMTP MTA Relay host for outgoing mail. This system works just fine, but suddenly (for reasons unbeknownst to me), delivery failure/bounceback messages just sit in the Windows mailroot\Queue directory. It was set up on the SMTP Virtual server to “send a copy of Non-Delivery report” to a central address here, but now it never shows, though it once did. I can manually forward them back into the Domino server if need be via Outlook Express, but otherwise they just sit there.

The person who originally set up our server this way is unfortunately no longer accessible to us, so I’m left trying to figure out what’s happening here. I know this might sound a bit confusing, but any help would be appreciated.

Subject: This may be too simple…

But have you attempted to reboot the server? We used smtp one time on a non-domino box and that thing always acted strange, but reboots normally cleared it up.
