Not authorised to access that database when creating a calendar invite

We have started get users complaining about the following message -

“not authorised to access that database”

when sending out calendar invites for meetings. Is there an easy way to troubleshoot what may be causing this all of a sudden.

Subject: not authorised to access that database when creating a calendar invite

At what point exactly are they getting the message? When they hit Save and Send Invitations? Or when they’re checking for scheduling availablity? Does the invite still go out or does it fail?

Have any ACL changes been made recently to the Rooms and Resources or busytime.nsf?

Are you using the standard R6 mail template or has it been modified at all? If so, are there scripts referencing another database there?

Are there any Access Denied messages in the log.nsf on the server?

That’s where I’d start.

Hope one of these puts you on the right troubleshooting path.

Thanks for the hints -It’s at the save and send.

I suspect that its in the Rooms and Resource database ACL that is causing the issue - as thats the only thing that has changed / been added recently

You’re welcome.

Does it only happen on invites where rooms/resources are selected?

Are there restrictions on who is allowed to book those rooms/resources? That might account for your symptoms.

I am in the process of nailing down where the meeting invite may be failing and what the pattern may be (eg 1 user, 1 resource)

At first glance though - there are no restrictions on resources or who can read busy time / resource.

The meeting does not save in the creator’s calendar but in most cases will send the requests.
