Venakt here. I have a problem of retreiving data from a field. My requirement is the formula should retreive data from user ID. If I use some default values I am able to get the data. can anyone help.
Formula is
@If(@clienttype=“Notes’;@Middleback(@userName;“OU=”;4);”")
Based onthis formula there are somemore dblookup formula.

You had:@If(@clienttype=“Notes’;@Middleback(@userName;“OU=”;4);”")
Beingg an old-school notes type I would have had:
@If(@clienttype=“Notes’;@name([OU1];@username);”")
That will return the first OU,
e.g. Jo Bloogs/My Unit/Your Unit/Org the first OU is Your Unit, whereas the second is My Unit
When in doubt stick in some @Prompts to check what values you are actually getting from your formula.

Thanks for the reply sue, but the formula you suggested is not working. Can you pls check with this additinal data.
There is a field called Tx_OrgNumber . so if i try the formula it is giving error. when i give default value “1000” it is working.
There are two departtments “1000” and “2000”. I have to get this number from @middleback formula. but When i give @user formula there is some new number comming instead of the above two(1000,2000)
User Name : CN=My Name/OU=extras/OU=1100/O=Company name
Can u pls help me out.
