i am not able to open one database inspite having default manger access in this… when i am trying to open this database then message is coming “access denied”…but i am able to open the designer… i have checked the property and encryption is unchecked…strange thing is that once i were able to open the database from my id and when i closed the window and tried to open the database this "access denied " message is coming and i am unable to open the database…

As you can open the NSF through Domino Designer, suggest you look at the launch properties of the NSF - 5th tab of database properties and look at the database script.
You may also want to check the effective access option of the ACL to verify that you have the access level you assume. If you cannot access the NSF at all, you can look at the document for the NSF in catalog.NSF on the server where the database is located. This will list the ACL entries by level, as a snapshot in time, from when the catalog task last ran. You can contact one of the users listed as Manager to have him/her add you to the ACL.
