Help! This is an intermittent error message that disappears for a bit once you’ve rebooted Notes.
I’ve done a quick search ont he forum but the code to call the frameset isn’t anything special:
Call ws.OpenFrameSet( “AmendPurchaseOrders” )Call ws.Settargetframe(“View”)
I’ve checked and everything matches up, yes there is a frameset called ‘AmendPurchaseOrders’ and there is a frame called ‘View’ in that frameset.
Has anyone got any ideas? I’m totally stuck on this.

Do you have any aliases associated with you design elements. If so, reference the alias.

No alias’s were being used, they had all been removed previously.
It only occurs if the users have their email open. If the users close their email and then repeat what they were doing, it no longer error’s.
However, I’ve renamed the frameset and frames completely. Now I get a different error message:
‘Target frame is ancestor of script object’.
Again, if the users close their email, the problem doesn’t occur.

The issue with that is amazing, Lotus Notes opens the frame and sets the target frame ONE TIME ONLY… if you try it again, it assumes the frame is open , which IT IS in the background.
the only way is to close notes and come back in
I spent THREE days trying to figure this out. I am stuck too. but I will find a solution, then will post it to you.

It seems that someone figured this one out… Use SetTargetFrame to empty string prior to opening framesets…
Call ws.SetTargetFrame(“”)
Call ws.OpenframeSet(“My Frameset Name”)
I also found that this solved another problem I was having with the ComposeDocument method of the NotesuiWorkspace object. I wanted the new form to display in a separate window, but it was opening in a frame of an existing frameset instead.
Call ws.SetTargetFrame(“”)
Dim newuidoc As NotesUIDocument
Set newuidoc = ws.ComposeDocument(db.Server,db.FilePath,“MyFormName”, , ,True)
