None of the components of the proposed new name are different than their old values

A user, “Jane Doe”, gets married to “John Smith” and changes her name to “Jane Doe Smith”. When trying to rename the user from the admin client, People & Groups - Tools - Rename - Change Common Name… we get the message “none of the components of the proposed new name are different than their old values”.

After searching I came across this post that does not solve the problem since the lastname is actually changed.

Do I also have to change the shortname/userid or email address in order for this to work?

Tried to rename all the fields but I still get the same error message.

I’m getting the same error even if I change every field in the window.

We’re using Domino Admin 8.5.2

Is there a fix for this?

Removing last two characters from the users last name results in the error. Domino 8.5.2.
