NOMAD craches easy

Setup on USB worked fine, nice to have on USB, but mine craches easy. If I remove the USB before closing the port, it may crach next time I insert it on same pc without restarting the pc. I am testing it at home on XP-home and I am sure that some users will just take out the USB and put it in again. The Fatal error is IN_PAGE_ERROR. IT do not cause me problem, I am just conserned about end-users, when it happen to them. Anyone has more info of this auto-run prog or autorun.ini that may help on this, are there any option that may help?rgds

I am sure that you won’t like this question - but you are removing the USB drive before actually stopping it? Isn’t that a bad thing?

Just wondering.

Yes it is, but I am just testing what I am sure some of our end-users would do. I do not have any problem to “fix” this. Also a few times I could not close the USB. When I tried, it said it could not close try later. Asume that some notes-program/process still was using it. I am just trying to see how “robust” this application is.rgds

You could either hope that an IBM/Lotus person will see this and respond to your question here, or take a more direct approach and open a ticket with Lotus Tech Support.

Taking the USB memory stick out of the machine while Notes is still running is bad. Very very bad. You should train your users to never do this.

If for some reason when you close Notes the OS does not let you stop and remove the USB stick properly, you should check if there is some other Notes related process still running. You could also use nsd -kill to force any Notes related process to shut down.
