It was mentioned before in this forum that synchronisation using most of the Nokia Data Suites would fail when synchronising contacts. Two errors appear, the first is that it can not find Notes, because it is now in the profiles, but easily sorted by telling the data suite where to find names.nsf but the second is a problem.
The error box that is displayed is “The Specified database does not support the required datatype”
If you change the design of the personal names database to the R5 template it works.
I read somewhere on the Nokia forums that one of the issues is the name and surname is the wrong way round. Can someone please let us know what view the data suite looks at, what causes the error and the best way to fix it?
I saw the update as I posted the message and upgraded my data suite. All works ok now.
However, what about all the other Nokias with data suites that are not upgraded. The Communicator for instance.
What I want is the (easy)technical answer. If the names(r5) template works for syncronisation on a V6 client and the names(v6)template does not then there is a change in the new template that breaks synchronisation. What is the change and what is the work around?
After all is Domino not the work-around product of the decade?
