I have some users who pull data off for reporting purposes and place into an Excel spreadsheet. These spreadsheets are semicolon delimited. They attach the spreadsheet to a Lotus Notes email message and send them out to other users. In the past, when the users double click on the attached Excel spreadsheet, they were presented with the “Text Import Wizard” automatically and they would choose to delimit → semicolon and the spreadsheet would delimit and all columns would open correctly. Now, suddenly, the users are no longer presented with the “Text Import Wizard” and the spreadsheet automatically coma delimits and is messed up. Even if the chose manually to use the Text To Columns manually, for example, Column A → Data → Text to Columns and chose to delimit with semicolons from the menu, it may semicolon delimit column A but a dialog box appears and asks “Do you want to replace the contents of the destination cells?”. If they click OK, the cells are replaced and much of the spreadsheet disappears. If they chose cancel, the entire semicolon operation is canceled.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before? It would be nice to be able to open Excel spreadsheets directly out of Lotus Notes again and be presented with the “Text Import Wizard” so the file could be fixed with semicolon delimits on the way in as before.
Any help would be appreciated and I thank you in advance.
