No Route Found to Domain

We have two servers on separate Notes domains in different countries and are trying to send emails between them.Originally we used to do this as external internet emails to save costs but now we have broadband connections we want to send as if internal mail. Having recently upgradied both servers to Domino 6.5.1 we have added connection documents to each server, 1 for mail routing and 1 for replication.

We’ve also replicated each domino directory to each server and included it in the “set configration names=” so lookups can be performed for each domian.

But mail only works 1 way as follows:

ServerUK, domain UK, can send emails directly to userb/NL/ServerNL and email arrives at destination ok, the from address is Usera/UK/ServerUK@UK (the @UK domain added). When Userb replies the address is to: Usera/UK/ServerUK@UK and is returned as soon as it gets to the ServerNL stating "No route found to Domain UK, Check server connection / domain etc.

As I’ve said from UK to NL is fine but not the other way around, ServerUK has no additional domain document for NL just the global one, and nothing else except the connections to the NL Server. As far as I can see the NL server has the same connections to the ServerUK and no extra domain document except the global one. We’ve not cross certified anything either, it strange that it works one way and not the other.

Any ideas of what to try gartefully received.

  1. There must be something wrong with the mail routing connection doc in that direction. If you can’t see the problem, try creating another one from scratch and see if that one works; maybe it’s something you’re overlooking, like the connection type or the router type.

  2. Why are you using cascading address books (an R3 technology) instead of directory assistance (R4) or either condensed (R5) or extended (R6) directory catalogs?
