I have just upgraded Domino 7.0.2 to Domino 8.0.2 together with the mail clients.
I have created a site document together with a resource document, meeting room. But when I search for a room, I get the message, ‘No resource/room found for time and/or capacity requirement’. I have read the post of Mr Alan Jamieson on 5 feb 08. Supposedly there was an issue for earlier versions but it has been solved in the 8.0.2 client. I am still getting the problem.
Thank you for your response. I am trying to book a meeting from a client, version 8.0.2. A strange thing happened though. I created the site and resource, a meeting room, yesterday and it did not work yesterday. But today morning everything was working great. When I searched the site, I got the correct room number.
So I created another resource, a laptop, and I got the same error. On running tell rnrmgr show name, i got the error, the resource is not found in schedule database.

It sounds like you are experiencing the normal lag between creating a new room (or site and room) and having it bookable in the R&R dB or via the Calendar.
When you create a new room, AdminP gets a request to add the entry to the NAB. Once that is done, the NAB data has to replicate back to your R&R server. There is also a well known NIF throttle that can cause data in some views like the $User view to NOT be visible to everyone for up to ~5 minutes. This was put in to avoid a single change from causing the potentially large and very important $users view from needing to be refreshed over and over and over causing a performance drop.
While all of the above is going on, RnRMgr sees the new room doc and tries to verify the room is one it should be processing (or not). Since it is doing this faster than AdminP and NAB updates normally appear, RnRMgr says the room is “not valid” because the name it is checking is not yet in the NAB.
This issue has been Technoted long ago (for users originally and the Schedule Manager task) but it applys equally here as well.
The issue will self correct at 2AM when RnRMgr rescans the R&R dB and the room is now in the NAB so now its is “valid” and added to busytime. You can also speed the process up by following the technote on the issue if you absolutely need that new room right now.
