No $Ref field on response document

I have a form that is designated as a “Document”. On that form, I have a button called "Add Product witht the following simple code:

@SetField(ChildType; “Product”);

@Command([FileSave]);

@Command([Compose]; “frmPCMDetail”)

The detail form is designated as a “Response” and it inherits values from several fields on the main document, but there is no $ref field on the response document.

I’ve been through the forum and I think I’ve done everything correctly, but maybe I’m looking at this thing too closely.

Starting with R6 you should use @Command([ComposewithReference]; server:db; form; flags) orthe “MakeResponse” method of the NotesDocument class in LS.

The ComposeWithReference command won’t work for me in this application. I don’t want a doclink or document in the response.

The MakeResponse command (if I’m reading it correctly) would be good to use after the fact.

In this application, the user creates a main document and then uses a button on the main document to create responses using @Command([Compose]). The document being created has a form of type response. Inheritance is checked and yet, there is no $Ref field on the subsequent document. I’m just trying to create the basic Document/Response relationship here.
